This isn’t exactly a genealogy post, but I found this story interesting. I just came across two articles discussing a literacy test given to black voters with little or undocumented education in Louisiana in the 1960s. Test takers had 10 minutes to answer 30 questions without error, as one wrong answer disqualified him or her from voting. The test is below. The articles can be accessed here and here.
