Fredericksburg Family History Day will be held Saturday, March 19 at the LDS Chapel. The theme is Connecting Our Stars, and the keynote speaker is Dr. William Pretzer, Senior Curator for History at the new National Museum of African American History and Culture. For more information, click here
There is a free genealogy conference being held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Family History Center in Laurel, Maryland. The event is sponsored by the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. and African American Special Interest Group. The keynote speaker is Angela Walton-Raj. Virginia Genealogical Society’s Spring Conference is being held April 29-30, 2016 at the Library of Virginia. This year’s theme is Library of Virginia: Records and Research Stategies. Included is a tour of the library, which is sure to be pretty darn awesome. I had the good fortune of attending last year’s conference and enjoyed myself.
